3 killed in military airstrikes on Mogok and Kyaukme Townships

The military launched airstrikes on the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA)-controlled Mogok town in Mandalay Region and Kyaukme town in northern Shan State around 9 a.m. on July 8, residents said.

The airstrikes were near a high school west of Mogok, killing two local residents, a source on the ground said.

The school was hit, but no children were injured, he said.

At least three civilian homes near the school were also damaged.

Meanwhile, the military launched two airstrikes near the Peace Hill Nursing Home in Kyaukme town, killing one local resident and wounding four others, a relief group said.

One of the four injured is in critical condition.

Similarly, in the TNLA-controlled town of Naung Cho, fighting between the military and the TNLA continues, with both sides firing about 4 miles outside Naung Cho.

Meanwhile, the military has been conducting airstrikes on TNLA-controlled areas for the past few days.

The military council has not yet released any information about the airstrikes on Kyaukme and Mogok.
