Hundreds of Gazans have been killed in the past month near food distribution areas run by the controversial US- and Israeli-backed humanitarian aid agency, local hospitals and officials say.
Since late May, more than 500 people have been killed and more than 4,000 wounded near aid centers run by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), according to the Hamas-run Health Ministry.
Most of the casualties were caused by Israeli fire, according to Gaza officials, health workers and witnesses.
There have also been allegations that the GHF itself has caused casualties.
In one case, a security guard at the gate opened fire on a group of women, children and the elderly returning from the center because they were too slow to leave, he said.
The GHF has written to the BBC asking for a response, saying that these allegations are completely false and that no civilians have been shot at in GHF aid centres.
Here is what the BBC knows about this controversial group.
